This Privacy Policy covers the PixMD website and PixMD mobile apps. It explains the information we access, collect, use, store and share when you use our services, including when you choose to sign in with Google. The information involved depends on the features you use.

For privacy questions, requests concerning your information or help deleting your account, contact [support@pixmd.com](mailto:support@pixmd.com).

## Your choices

You choose whether to create an account, use Google sign-in, submit a consultation request or provide optional profile information. Google sign-in is an optional sign-in method. Google shows the information requested before you authorize the connection. You can review or remove that connection through your Google Account settings, as explained below.

## Information we collect

The personal information that you are asked to provide, and the reasons why you are asked to provide it, will be made clear to you at the point we ask you to provide your personal information.

If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, phone number, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide.

When you register for an Account, we may ask for your contact information, including items such as name, company name, address, email address, and telephone number.

## How we use your information

We use the information we collect in various ways, including to:

- Provide, operate, and maintain our services

- Improve, personalize, and expand our services

- Understand and analyze how you use our services

- Develop new products, services, features, and functionality

- Communicate with you, either directly or through one of our partners, including for customer service, to provide you with updates and other information relating to the services, and for marketing and promotional purposes

- Send you emails

- Find and prevent fraud

## Google sign-in: information we access and collect

If you choose Continue with Google, PixMD requests the openid, email and profile permissions. Google provides a unique account identifier, email address and email-verification status, and basic profile information when available, including your name, given name, family name and profile picture. Our authentication service maps this information to your PixMD sign-in account.

This sign-in connection does not request access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, contacts or calendar. You authenticate with Google; PixMD does not receive your Google password.

## How we use and store Google sign-in information

We use Google sign-in information to authenticate you, create or locate your PixMD account, populate account profile fields, maintain account access across devices, provide account-related communications and help protect against unauthorized access. Account identifiers and mapped profile information are stored in our authentication and account systems hosted on Amazon Web Services, including Amazon Cognito. Session information is also stored on your device to support signed-in use.

Your PixMD profile and activity are used to provide the features you choose, such as following providers, saving posts, commenting and contacting a practice. The Google sign-in permissions themselves do not give PixMD access to additional Google services or give advertising partners access to your Google Account.

## Sharing and protection of sign-in and account information

Google processes the sign-in interaction, and Amazon Web Services processes authentication and account information for PixMD. Service providers and authorized personnel supporting PixMD may process account information as needed to operate, support and secure the service. Account information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to investigate abuse or protect users and the service.

Information you use in a public PixMD feature, such as a display name on a comment or information in a professional profile, may be visible to other people. When you submit a consultation request, the contact details, questions and attachments you include are shared with the selected practice so it can respond. A practice's independently maintained records are governed by that practice's policies.

We use encrypted network connections, authentication and access controls to protect account information. No system can guarantee absolute security. Google's processing is described in the [Google Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy); this PixMD policy describes our handling of information received for PixMD.

## Google connection, retention and deletion choices

We retain Google-linked account identifiers and profile information as part of your PixMD account while needed to provide the account, subject to the deletion and limited retention periods below. The account-deletion process also applies to personal information received through Google sign-in.

You can review or remove PixMD's connection at [Google Account third-party connections](https://myaccount.google.com/connections). Removing the connection prevents future sign-in through that connection until you authorize it again; it does not by itself delete information already held in your PixMD account. To delete your PixMD account and associated information, use Settings or our [Delete account page](https://www.pixmd.com/delete-account), or contact [support@pixmd.com](mailto:support@pixmd.com) for help accessing the deletion process. Deleting your PixMD account does not delete your Google Account.

## Deleting your PixMD account

You can request deletion in Settings or on our [Delete account page](https://www.pixmd.com/delete-account). We verify your identity, show what will be removed, and ask you to confirm. Your account is then restricted while cleanup runs. We aim to remove ordinary account data from live systems within 30 days and email you when this is complete.

Deletion covers your profile, preferences, follows, saved items, comments and account-owned uploads. It also removes your consultation requests, messages and attachments from PixMD, including copies shown to the other participant. Deleting a pro account removes that pro’s posts, drafts and scheduled publications. Deleting a manager account removes the manager’s access; the pro’s posts and drafts remain with the pro. A comment may leave an anonymous structural placeholder so replies remain correctly hidden.

For publication accountability, we restrict and retain a minimal Post history record for 24 months after the deletion request: the actor’s account ID and email, action, time, content identifier or hash, and names of changed fields. Full post text, snapshots and media are removed with ordinary account data. We retain a minimal deletion request and fulfilment record for the same period. Evidence from existing open or hidden comment moderation cases may be retained with restricted access for up to 90 days after the request. These records are not used for marketing or recommendations.

A specific legal obligation or documented legal hold may require limited records to be retained longer. Holds must identify the records, reason, approving administrator and review date. Application logs expire within 30 days. Backup copies expire within 35 days after the corresponding live data is removed; any restoration must reapply deletion requests before restored data returns to use.

Deleting PixMD does not delete your Google account or copies independently saved by another person or a provider outside PixMD. For help accessing your account or questions about a retained record, email [support@pixmd.com](mailto:support@pixmd.com).

## Log Files

When you use PixMD, our services and security providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser or app type, device information, request times, pages or actions and diagnostic information. We use service logs to operate the service, diagnose problems and prevent abuse. Some records may be associated with an account or request. The retention periods for application logs are described in the deletion section above.
