### What to look for in a comparison

- Compare the same body area, stance, camera angle, and lighting.
- Read whether skin removal or fat transfer was performed at the same time.
- Ask whether weight changed between the photographs.

Images are a starting point for discussion. They cannot establish whether a procedure is suitable for you or predict your result.

UNDERSTAND THE PROCEDURE

## Understanding liposuction

Liposuction removes localized fat from areas such as the abdomen, waist, thighs, or arms. It may be performed alone or as part of another operation.

### An important distinction

Liposuction is not a weight-loss treatment or an effective cellulite treatment. Skin elasticity matters; fat removal may leave looseness that requires a different discussion.

### Start with your own goals

Bring the changes you want to discuss, your medical history, medications, and prior procedures to a consultation. Ask about alternatives, including waiting or choosing no treatment. A gallery comparison is not a substitute for that assessment.

PLAN FOR THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE

## Recovery & follow-up

Your plan may include dressings, compression, and temporary limits on activity. Recovery varies with the areas treated and any combined surgery. Ask about swelling, garment use, work, and follow-up.

A BALANCED VIEW

## Risks to discuss

Risks include contour irregularities, loose or rippled skin, infection, sensation changes, and damage to deeper structures. Blood clots, pulmonary complications, and revision surgery are also possible.

These examples are not a complete list. Ask your treating physician how your health, the chosen technique, and any combined procedures affect risk, and what follow-up care is included.

BRING BETTER QUESTIONS

## Your consultation checklist

Choose the questions you want to take with you. This checklist stays on this page; it is not sent to a provider.

- [ ] Is my concern localized fat, loose skin, or both?

- [ ] How will the areas and amount treated affect my risks and recovery?

- [ ] What contour limitations or need for additional treatment should I expect?

- [ ] What is included in the total estimate, aftercare, and any revision policy?
